address feedback from Cornell

Feedback from Michelle on the single image validator; when doing image remediation should make sure these issues from the single image validator are address:
· We always get mixed information – image has remediable errors and/or possibly remediable errors, but the page “fails” according to the message at the bottom.
· We can’t determine from the messages how remediation is made – will these be part of the automated processes in the ingest? Will we need to do something on an image-basis? Can we manage through a met.yml file? The messages provide little direction for this.
· Some of the image detail seems to be completely abstract or overly technical. I have no idea what it means, or the relevance: “Remediable: Invalid value for field in JHOVE NISO/MIX image metadata - CompresionScheme: saw Uncompressed; expected Group 4 Fax.” This can’t mean that uncompressed images are unacceptable, right?
· Sometimes the messages seem to be plain misleading – for instance, we have had some detect images as bitonal, when they are actually greyscale.
I have posted some sample images in Box for you (where we submit packages) of a few files from packages that we supplied that passed ingest. Feel free to play with those, and consider both of us available to test/retest as you make changes. Many thanks for putting energy into this. We are happy to help however we can.
