It would be great if Atom could refactor PHP!

You could try https://atom.io/packages/php-integrator-refactoring (though I'm not lucky with it)

@hax Thanks. I tried it. It's a bit overkill for this and it doesn't like me either. 😉

I don't even necessarily want to refactor; I just want to highlight read- and write occurrences of the selected variable. js-refactor is nice. I tried to 'port' it to php but I underestimated the complexity. 😭

The docs page, for this package claims it works with PHP (and js and coffeescript) but clicking php links here which seems to indicate that it is not support. More importantly, i cannot get it to on my PHP code so i am going to say this does not work and the claim that it works in the documentation should be removed
