Servers wont start on centos 7

Got the most current version of the nodejs one.
made a test server. Server will not start. the start button will not do anything at all. and the accept eula button works but it does not go away after being clicked.
no error is showing up. plenty of ram available (11gb available only trying to start a 1gb server)

What does /var/log/mineos.log say?

Have you downloaded a profile, have you set the runnable jar? Which runnable jar are you using?

it seems servers wont start when created as unprivileged user.
when created and run as root they start just fine

Shouldn't create or start servers as root, because java will then create files owned by root:root and won't ever be modifiable by non-root. You'll need to recursively chown your servers to correct this.

In command line:

chown -R mc:mc /var/games/minecraft/servers/< server name >

EDIT: -R, not -r. also, the < > was omitted.

chown: invalid group: ‘mc:mc’

I assumed you had mc:mc, but if you don't, replace that in the string with your actual user:group

I recreated mc and placed it in the group mc
and ran the command.
and now when i make a server as mc and try to start it i get start failed (1) in a notification popup and the code block i have above is the output from the failed start in the log file.

Try this instead, because I'm not sure what unfortunate side effects may have occurred from logging in and doing actions as root.

log in as whatever non-root user you're using, which appears to be mc at this point
type this:

cd /var/games/minecraft/servers/test
java -jar minecraft_server.1.8.8.jar

This is what MineOS does in the background, just that simple command on your behalf. Whatever error you get here is the error keeping Minecraft from running. Maybe it's java, maybe it's permissions; let us know what you get back.

the server starts without any issues when running the commands logged in as mc from the ssh shell.

i try then again from panel and start/stop actions are denied in the panel.

this is what i get form panel when i click start

i tried doing a clean reinstall of the panel. and still get the same error when i try to make and start a server as a non-root user.

Are you sure you installed the necessary dependencies, such as rdiff-backup and screen?

Also, This is a mineos-node issue, I'm closing this issue and you can recreate it on the mineos-node repository.
