Let me ask you, how is the state of development? can you give an example of use?

Yes, extension was initially based on Fabien Pennequin's work, but then was significantly rewritten.
It's quite stable now and I use it in production. I've added some basic usage to readme.md, also you can find a lot more in tests.

I'll definitely try this extension, because it is what I was looking for.
Have you ever thought about proposing to https://github.com/l3pp4rd/DoctrineExtensions/ to integrate your code in their extension?
I think that both you and they would benefit of that.
