sign out, sign in didn't end up refreshing the session / storage token

I signed out then signed in again. After being redirected back, I was still getting 403's from the core node because the old expired storage token was being used. I clicked sign out again, though, and the token was refreshed. Strangely, though I was still signed in. Bizarre behavior.
