need more control on the creation, sparse_ok, tiling, driver etc.

  • creation options SPARSE_OK=YES, BIGTIFF=IF_SAFER, BLOCKSIZE/BLOCKXSIZE ...
  • format, GTiff, COG, NetCDF etc
