Fatal error with palimpsest

I copied a scroll of enchantment onto the palimpsest, and then read both the scroll and the palimpsest while having the gorgeous dagger readied. The scroll worked well, but the palimpsest first showed the normal enchantment message and then: "Out of bounds memory access." which crashed gargoyle. And it was such a good tactic!
