feature request: allow combining two lower level books

Opened this issue · 5 comments

For example, if I have two unbreaking II books, and I want to first combine those for unbreaking III, at what point do I apply the combined book to the tool, since it will have a higher "prior work score"?

I think this tool is intended for people who have villager trading worked out—meaning you're getting enchanted books with only one enchantment and at the highest level.

There's another anvil calculator like this one, but it lets you input as many books as you want with multiple enchantments on each book (so you could add two Unbreaking II books.) It allows more control, but it also takes a bit longer to set up each enchantment than this enchant order tool.

For what I undderdstandd, penalty will always be better with books, sot it is better to combine book then enchant item with this calculator. This is what I do and it's working

Seconding this capability. It would be really convenient to use this to calculate lower-level books when determining the best order.

For instance-

  • 1 x Pickaxe
  • 2 x Efficiency IV books
  • 1 x Mending book
  • 1 x Fortune III book
  • 2 x Unbreaking II book

i think i strongly need this feature

for instance after building a trade farm + xp/gold farm and a bartening farm, it's easier to have 2x soul speed 2 in inventory than 1x soul speed 3

moreover for environmental reasons it would be nice to use all the books you find on buried treasure chests instead of buying new one :-P

If it won't be added that quickly, you could check out this tool.
