Only works if router firewall is disabled

I can control my WeMo from the app no matter what, but ouimeaux only discovers the device if I turn off my router's firewall. Might there be a less extreme way to let ouimeaux see my WeMo switch? I have no idea how to even begin debugging. Any help would be appreciated.
