Why does the cursor becoming white (almost invisible) when inside function brackets, if expressions or for/while loops?

First of all, I have to say that I absolutely loved this theme. I'm a big fan of acme
and Plan 9 itself, and this fitted perfectly.
I'm having problems with the cursor (as I said in the issue title) --- it's just normal when over strings/identifiers, but when I go to the script body, inside functions, if expressions or for/while loops, it becomes white and just mixes with the background ---, but I don't think this is related to your theme, but with my Vim configuration. Do you know how may I fix this in Vim? Like, force it to be black all the time.
Thanks for the attention and happy New Year.
Update: I'm using GNOME Terminal, it came along with Unity Desktop --- before I changed between Workstations, I used XTerm and Enlightenment 16.
I just enabled the option that forces the cursor to be black all the time, also disabled blinking (which was confusing me a little).
On XTerm, the cursor is light grey by default, but visible.
Reopen if you guys feel the need.
