Passing URL of data source from GitHub doesn't work

Describe the bug
I'm currently trying to use a GitHub URL as a data source without success. Specifically, I'm using the URL to a release asset for the healthgps-data repo: https://github.com/imperialCHEPI/healthgps-data/releases/download/20240624/data_20240624.zip
We just get an empty file in response, which obviously breaks things.
The zip file itself actually does have files in it though!
