profile button in sidebar disappears

Sometimes the Profile button on the lefthand navigation will disappear. I've been trying to toggle my settings to see if something directly effects it, but refreshing the page makes it come back, so I haven't been able to narrow down what's causing it. I've got grok/communities hidden in the navigation and it might be one of them, but when I try to isolate it the profile button will come back on a refresh but then become hidden again as I browse so I'm not sure what it is :( and it's happened even after rebooting and refreshing my browser cache. i'm using firefox on a windows pc
