Help: How to connect an RM4C Mini

Closed this issue · 1 comments

Hi,

I'm trying to connect an RM4C Mini, but I can't get it to connect in the right mode. I've tried the eControl Home, but the RM4C is not detected by this app ... so much for using the old app :).

Then I tried the "Broadlink" App, and closed the app as soon as Wifi is connected ... it connects to Wifi but now I get the dreaded "Warning: Device discovered which operates in cloud mode and could not be authenticated" message in the log (full message see below).

Is there anything I can do to make the device connect to Wifi, but not join the broadlink cloud?

P.S.: I've added "0x520d=RM4C" in the adapter settings already.

Warning: Device discovered which operates in cloud mode and could not be authenticated! Delete device from mobile app, reset device and bring it into WiFi network again but do not assign it any name, room or function, close app immediately! Device: { address: '192.168.8.230', port: 80, devtype: 21005, oname: '智能遥控', cloud: 1, maco: <Buffer e2 39 54 56 16 e8>, mac: 'e8:16:56:54:39:e2', type: 'RM4', name: '0x520d_e8:16:56:54:39:e2', devhex: '0x520d', devname: 'rm4' }

To answer my own question: I had to fully complete the setup of the device in the Broadcom app. The new device is "locked" by default: Checking the device properties, there's a slider "Lock device". After disabling the lock, the device works fine now.
