Is there a way to update emoji.json since last update was 7 years ago and is out of date in respect to the emoji fonts?

thanks for mentioning this in 109. so this means that downloading new sets is basically useless? the json file should probably be updated whenever new emojis are downloaded. i can' t see anything in the code that writes to the json file, and i'm not sure where it is taken from.

I would like to know to where the file is taken from. I tried to do a google search but couldn't find much.
