Use in production environment

Just curious, does anyone use bitbetter in a live production environment

Yes, but I would not recommend it. Bitbetter is a patch with zero support. If something breaks, you have to hope someone in this tiny community can help.

Luckily it's on a VM and if I update and doesn't work out, I just spin up a good backup that works with the old version

What about vault warden, is that any good to use, basically same principle,they use there own API instead of bitwardens

I would touch vaultwarden with a bargepole only because there has been no security audit. Your risk appetite may be different. Also be aware features are missing from vw - https://github.com/dani-garcia/vaultwarden/wiki#missing-features=
