Key-connector not working

Closed this issue · 1 comments

I don't know actually if it is a BitBetter or Bitwarden problem...

I upgraded my Bitwarden+BitBetter installation (from 2023.2 to 2024.2) and the Key-Connector stopped working.
The Bitwarden Android app required me to set a new main password (which is just the purpose of Key-connector to not have one)
and now, all (app, firefox extension, web connection) require the password to decrypt the vault.

In the Organisation interface, the Bitwarden configuration has not changed, Key-Connector is still ON, no warning, the Docker container is up and running.
In fact, I cannot even disable Key-Connector (as said in the configuration guidelines on Bitwarden website), or remove the Organisation (because "the Key connector is enabled").

I also tried a full reinstallation from scratch, and I end up to the same situation.

Anyone has an idea about that ?
Maybe a license problem (the Bitwarden configuration procedure of Key connector has a step with a new license file and activation by Bitwarden...) ?

So, after one day of experimentations, I answer to myself :

  • the Key Connector works good, but an admin user MUST have a password and use it to decrypt its vault
  • if a user is promoted to admin, he must create a new password and use it (not sure if my main user was already admin and there was a change in bitwarden, or if he were promoted to admin)
