Does Record and FC still make sense?

Would Layer and Sublayer be clearer? Maybe a better word than Sublayer...

I think Record to Layer is a good change, but Sublayer might be misleading.

FC is the technically correct term, but it's not obvious what it means if your not a GIS practitioner. Also FeatureClass is too long to spell for my liking. Ideally I find a shorter term that is more obvious to the common folk, yet still makes sense.
