perhaps someone with more ruby knowledge than me can answer this....

happens when i execute:

sudo gem install puppet-rundeck

I have ruby 1.8.5 on a centos 5.7 system

[chuck@centos-57-64-vm2 rubygems-1.3.5]$ rpm -q ruby
ruby-1.8.5-24.el5

[chuck@centos-57-64-vm2 rubygems-1.3.5]$ rpm -q rubygems
rubygems-1.3.2-2.el5.rf

upgraded gem to 1.3.5 no luck.

Is upgrading ruby my only alternative. rubygems, not my favorite thing to work with.

I hope using dreaded rvm is not my only alternative.

I'd be very surprised if this ran on Ruby 1.8.5 at all I am afraid.

yes upgraded to 1.8.7 seemed to get me thru this.
