Virtual Keyboard

I've installed Florence, but this can probably apply to any virtual keyboard, but it will only show up on boot, but if I click on the Chromium window, it disappears, with no way to retrieve it short of opening terminal and running a display command. What settings could I adjust in the .xsession file to have the virtual keyboard (or what ever app) stay up on top?
