Fuzzy matching fails for Cyrillic characters

Hello Jason! Really enjoying the workflow, got a lot tracked and done with the help of it.
I don't recall this issue in previous releases, but I might not encounter it. In 2018 I must have switched from English projects and tasks to native Ukrainian and Russian and figured that filtering items does not work, which drives me crazy at times :)
I hoped to fix some shell script and provide a pull request, but it's in Go Lang, so I ask for your assistance. Could you please check why fuzzy matching fails for non-Latin characters? I hope it's a matter of library switch/update. Here's a wiki page in Ukrainian for word examples.
If it requires additional work, let me know, I'd be glad to help and finally fix that nasty one.
