Passing a hash of ids to View

I am adding some filtering in get_raw_records, and when the data are refreshed via AJAX, i would like to also pass a hash back to the view. Is there a simple way to do that ? Should i be doing that at the get_raw_records level of in the js.coffee ?

def get_raw_records
  query = Book.where(user_id: user.id)
  query = query.where(subject: params[:subject_id]) if params[:subject_id].present?
  query
end
