I'm looking to get an automated vacuum to manage the ground floor of my house. It is all hardwood floor.
Requirements
- Zones with priority
- No go areas
- Lidar for object avoidance (no banging into things)
- Map integration with Home Assistant
- Local API
Suggestions
- Roborock S5(50 + 55), S6(60) (plus Valetudo firmware)
- Neato D7, D5
- Eufy by Anker and super old iRobot 500 series
- Roomba i7+ and S9+

- Valetudo is a standalone binary which runs on rooted Vacuums of the Xiaomi ecosystem and aims to enable the user to operate the robot vacuum without any Cloud Connection whatsoever.

Yes, that’s the part I missed. I just added it to my post. Well, your input_select is loading so it must be something else. Either way here’s the part I missed in my post: input_select: vacuum_room: name: Choose a room to clean options: - Select Input - bedroom - guest room - dining room - kitchen - living room

I think I'm pretty sold on the Roborock S6 MaxV right now particularly with the mop feature. This will be really useful with having solid wood flooring throughout downstairs. Seems stock in the UK is limited at the moment so before I pay a premium for one because of this I'm going to research how well this integrates into Home Assistant. It doesn't look like Valetudo is available for the S6 yet so I'd like to understand the trade offs getting the most current Roborock versus an earlier model which integrates better.
