Can't replace cover

For example, i added the french edition of the manga "Wolf Guy 1" (my region is
set on "France")
1. The book is added but with no cover
2. I checked the web to get the cover and placed it on my SDcard
3. Tried to replace it in Shelves, it is'nt changing anything (still blank
cover)
Version 2.7.3, Android 2.2
