Adding liquid Jupyter Notebook .ipynb gist {% gist xxxx %} in posts returns blank

This is specific to gists that have Jupyter Notebooks .ipynb in them (Tried liquid gist tagging {% gist xxxx %} in posts, returns a blank space. Am I missing something here? Please advise.

-No luck - it works well for gists that have an apparent static content

When I try to embed this, it doesn't display the gist, instead shows the link to the correct gist with a blank square
