paper version?

Why don't you make a paper version of this book? [say at https://kdp.amazon.com/]
Honestly, I just didn't even consider doing this, not for profit at least. But if it can merely work as an easier way for anyone interested to get a printed copy without the hassle of finding a printer by oneself, and if, say, KDP rules don't forbid publishing open-source material, i'd gladly try and do it.
There is no problem to print open-source material, so far they do only softcover --- that might stop you. Also you cannot print the Russian version at KDP. Another option is Lulu.com --- they do Russian and they do hardcover, but they charge more for printing.
It seems easy enough. I'll try to prepare the next release soon and will try and put the English version with letter designations on Amazon. Thank you for the suggestion!
Did you try? (I can help if you ask.)
@anton-petrunin
I didn't (
I took a break with the new release I intended to try and publish paper version of, and didn't prepare it during the summer and now I have an issue #62 with a newer ConTeXt version I still don't know how to come around without waiting for the new release or downgrading to an older version (which I don't want to do, since some other minor things would break).
Once the new version comes out (or I find a way to make my current version work) I'll prepare the new release.
Or I can try it with the previous release, in which case I think I may need your advice. How can I contact you?
Is the TASCHEN version in any way related to your work? In other words, if I buy TASCHEN version, am I helping this project in any way?
@fredguth The TASCHEN version is not related to this project in any way, theirs is facsimile edition of the original Byrne's work. I planned, as @anton-petrunin suggested, to put this version on Amazon as a print-on-demand item, or something like this, but didn't do it yet.
Besides TASCHEN, I found these two:
@fredguth Both these projects are absolutely fantastic in their own right, and are also absolutely unrelated to mine. The former is, afaiu, HTML + JS, with the diagrams drawn manually in Adobe Illustrator, and the latter is (again, afaiu) is completely closed-source and made with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator (tbh, i didn't see their book except for on some photos in the internet).
I would still be interested in a nice print version of this book, especially with the lettrines and line numbers for my students. We still use it every year. Throw a nice cover on it and you would have something that my students would treasure. They love learning Euclid from this project, I feel that the lettrines and line numbers are a huge breakthrough in being able to teach this.
@bgeorge77 @anton-petrunin I'm very sorry, the last couple of years were really weird and I frankly didn't devote much time to the project, including the KDP stuff. I'm now trying to put the regular English version there (without letter designations) and if everything goes well, I'll do the same thing with the English version with letter designations and line numbers. It seems like with KDP to cover the printing costs it should end up at about 18 USD. Not sure about how nice it's going to be in terms of print quality though, never seen their print-on-demand books in person.
Printing quality is quite OK + now you can do hardcover. You could also print Russian version at lulu.com.
