downloads section

In the instruction you write "Download latest jar from downloads section" but this section seems to be missing. Do I have to build my own jar from sources?

I was pretty much future proofing. Yes, for now build from sources.

Is this project then still active? Will there be an download sometime? Will there be support for non-standard repositories?

I would say medium active. I am using it fully time, in that it runs every hour to keep a github repo in sync with a subversion repository. But don't have a lot of time to add new features.
