Screen freezes during video playback

Opened this issue · 9 comments

Now and then the screen freezes when I'm watching a video and the remote control buttons stop to work (except for the power button)
The only way out is to reset the TV by pressing the power button for a couple of seconds.

Hi @devwiing, perhaps it might be due to an undetected error. I will verify that the information on Crunchyroll has not changed. to streamline my search... Have you experienced this with any specific anime, season, or episode?

thanks regards.

Hi @jhassan8, so it happens only sometimes. I am only watching One Piece now, around episode 900, old episodes, but not that old.

That is not happening lately, but I think it there is really a bug, it might be related to the next episode window
Most of the time when that happens, it happens at the the end of the episode, when the next episode window pops up

This occurs when have a wifi signal problem and need to switch to low-res. Then will keep freeze until signal is back or have successfully switched to low-res playback.

I get a similar lock-up after a few episodes. With the way the whole TV seems to become unresponsive, it feels like it is running out of memory. Is there maybe a memory leak somewhere? Is there a way to check that?

hi @felixkmh, does the TV stop responding or does the application? If it is the app, maybe there is an error when requesting information about the next episode or the information to skip the intro, it didn't happen to me. I have an M5 27" and it never happened to me.

I'm going to try leaving an anime with many episodes playing all night to see if this happens. thanks for the info

I have been facing this issue for a while now.

It happens almost every time I watch episode, but only once per time. I noticed that the freezing occurs around 15 minutes into the episode. If I stop watching it before reaching 15 minutes and I resume it some other time, then there is no freezing.

It seems that it has to do with the duration of playtime.

hi @devwiing, @felixkmh, I tried it on 2 TVs with different versions of Tizen and I had no problems, I played about 20 episodes in a row and it continued working. but I am going to check some way to display the memory used at the end of each episode and try to reduce the amount used to try to solve the problems that some devices have.

The problem reported previously still persists

hi, the official application is now available in the TV store, it is probably a better option, I will still see if it is convenient to continue maintaining this project. thanks and regards
