I believe that you already know about this issue, but just wanted to pin it over here since you are the author of this script used in olli991/mib2std-toolbox.

With extract-startup_x.boot.py, i can confirm that all the boot containers png’s (0 to 8) have no color, but are extracted in grayscale (Windows 10 pc)
if i open any png in photoshop it states ‘gray’ instead of ‘RGB’.
