I have come here via http://www.kevinmarks.com/iwc2016-06-04.html and wonder if it wouldn't make sense you joined efforts with http://mediagoblin.org/?

Their codebase is also built on Python and their infrastructure could be well used to republish the gained backups from Flickr and Google. Having said this, glad finally having found a FLOSS web interface to aquire those.

I had a look at mediagoblin when I was looking for alternatives. It just seemed like too much machinery for what I wanted (Users, i18n, moderation, comments, oauth, plugins, themes). Maybe this evolves into something similar if I have the need and then look at mediagoblin.
