"+Messages" erow behaviour

+Messages | Clear
Right click on command +Messages within the erow toolbar invokes another "+Messages" erow. What purpose does this new erow serve? I see that the messages continue to be posted to the original "+Messages" erow.

I agree, there is no purpose. Needs to be fixed.
