Question - Requirements for Snap as a Service

Closed this issue · 4 comments

Obviously not for financial gain. But as an alternative to the supported offline deployment models.

Let's face it - Education IT infrastructure is a weak-link in many institutions. If something has to be updated across many systems - the bottleneck becomes a human operators ability to do so.

My question is if Snap can be hosted from a central server and if there is documentation for doing so? Can the cloud features be locally hosted as well?

You just need to c;lone the repo and run it on a webserver

"Can the cloud features be locally hosted as well?"
Although it's all open source, no-oner that I know of has managed to re-implement it

Great to hear about the ease of webserver migration - that was going to be my next investigation.

Good to know that the Cloud feature capabilities are still somewhat ambiguous going in - will dive deeper.

I'll close this issue unless there are other features to be implemented.

About the cloud server: Various Snap_!_ extensions (NetsBlox, Turtlestitch, that I know of) have their own cloud servers. So it's certainly possible. Maybe you need Bernat to walk you through it, if it's hard to do; I dunno.
