SMS Flood from Amazonses

I use Join and everytime an SMS comes in I get about a half a dozen empty messages from amazonses. I am not even sure this is related to Join, so my question at this point is only: does Join even use amazonses at all?

Join does not use anything related to Amazon so it must be related to something else...
