My suggestion is to remove the deploy user and adopt a different authentication convention.

The user will continue to authenticate using HTTP Basic Auth but the combination of username and password can be one of:

  • http://APIKEY:X@subdomain.minegems.com
  • http://USERNAME:APIKEY@subdomain.minegems.com
