All channels are shown in the channel list.

Channel names that I should not see because I don't have permission are also listed
However, if you click the channel, the channel contents are not displayed.
You can view hidden channel list even if you don't have permission.

That's intentional. It's is part of the Hidden Channels plugin which you can disable in settings.
