Folders repopulated with old posts

Closed this issue · 8 comments

As per the title I regular see old posts that I have marked as read being populated as marked as unread.

Unread
All of the posts in this image for example have been marked read many times but continue to re-appear on a regular basis.

Am I missing something?

Further to this I just noticed that data.json actually contains details of a number of old posts that in some cases match the posts that keep reappearing.

Why are these being stored in data.json???
data json

Do you use the Cleanup command/button regularly?
Using that will remove selected articles from the data file and if they still are available on the server they will be repopulated.

All plugin data is stored in data.json, that includes all articles, their read status, highlights, etc.

Everything is written to data.json as that is synced by Obsidian Sync.
Any other custom files are not guaranteed to be synced.

The only button I see is the 'Refresh Feeds'. Is that what you are referring to by Cleanup command?

I've uninstalled and re-install the plugin and completely rebuilt the configuration. Those same posts continue to appear as unread so now I am wondering if that may be an issue with the server end and not the plug-in.

I will continue to investigate. Happy to close this issue for now.

Cheers

No, that is not the button I am referring to.
There is a command and a button in the settings that can be used for cleaning old articles.

After taking another look at your second screenshot I see that the article is not sorted under the correct feed.
Does this also show up in the UI?

Just as a note, I originally asked about the cleanup command as that one has
the explicit side effect of repopulating the articles if they are still available on the server.
