I have it compiled and running.

lsusb gives me

0e53:2517 isn't listed at https://usb-ids.gowdy.us/ only 1130:0001 which is the device that the code is configured for (you could try changing the values to the ones for you device. I have no idea if they're compatible at all).
0e53:2517 is in fact almost unspoken anywhere, according to duckduckgo. this is the only search result: boombuler/hid#11
