is it possible to see the prices of weapons and armor when you hover over items?

That is not possible unfortunately.
It can only show prices available on https://nwmarketprices.com/.
And I don't think there are any plans to add them.
It's mostly a technical reason. There are many variations for each weapon/armor that share the same name.
Prices are linked to item names, the prices between variations differ too much to make it useful.
