Release of 4.0.0 on Rubygems

@jpignata, can you please reach to me for a discussion about the release?
There is a lot of new code and the only thing that's missing is releasing it.
Would be nice to either you release it on Rubygems or giving me access on Rubygems so that I can release it. The latter is preferred in case there is a need for another release later but the former is also okay.
