There is no link leading us out of the "demos" subdomain. For example "http://demos.jquerymobile.com/1.4.2/".

Back where we came from - the JQM main page.

I regularly go there to check something, forgetting it's a dead end, then I usually want to go to the API page, so I either have to open a new window or tab, or edit the URL. Or press the Backspace button N times. Not nice. There is no real "Home" or "Back to main page" button/link.

@mrextreme just so you know there is a link to the api and jquerymobile.com on the front page so it is not a dead end click home from any page and there are links to both.

However this just made me notice that all the api links have gone missing there used to be a link to the corresponding api page on every demo page that has one these are all missing.

@arschmitz damn, I never ever saw that :) lol. I never looked at that part of the page, as the left panel has the navigation, so I always and immediatelly use that upon visiting the page... ehh...

@mrextreme i think the best solution here is to add the missing api links back as these i think are important to be able to jump directly to correct api page directly from a demo

Next I think we should add links to jquerymobile.com and the api in the left hand menu. because even though there are links on the front page they are not very noticeable

I think @gabrielschulhof 's idea was also good, to turn the logo into a link. Nice, clean, quick and logical.

@mrextreme im going to close this issue and move it to jquery-mobile repo thats where the demos actually live this repo is just the website thats hosts them all.

@mrextreme I actually do not think thats a good idea the expected behavior of a logo link is to take you to the front page of the site your currently on in this case the demos. It would be very frustrating to be taken back to jquerymobile.com every time you click the logo link

I think the logo in the demos should keep linking to the homepage of the demos, not to jquerymobile.com.

I agree we should at a link to jquerymobile.com and api.jquerymobile.com in the navmenu (and/or in the header/footer of each page).

The reason we removed the links to corresponding API docs pages is the problem with versions.

@uGoMobi I do not think having to update links between versions is a good reason to remove links that should be there for users sake.

@arschmitz - All the API doc links in the 1.3.x demos are linking to the API docs of the latest version of jQuery Mobile. So, since the 1.4.0 release they are linking to the wrong version of the docs, which doesn't help users.

Because we only used the version in the url for previous versions of the API docs we couldn't change the links to point to 1.4. That's why they are removed. Now that we have a redirect from /[latest-version]/[widget] to /[widget] we can make them point to specific versions, so we can add them back.
