Port to python3?

Since both requirements (pandas and matplotlib) work with python 3, can we port the code to work on python 3 too?

Would we still support python 2? I think going with python 3 only is not a bad idea. What do you think?

We do need to continue to support python 2 since it is still widely used. But I appreciate the help porting to Python 3 as well.
