Count the number of forks and stars as points too?

Just a suggestion. Could we count the number of forks and stars as points too? Maybe 1 point for each star and 1 point for each fork?

Actually we are going to use that to divide the projects into different categories. Large, Medium and Small. Then change the leader board to show all three side by side. See #83

But what if stars and forks also added to the points? That would make the competition more interesting as it would mean that people would need to promote their projects too, and not just commit changes, It would be a true indicator of people's perception of projects. :-)

Well, the only problem I have with that is existing popular projects would have a huge advantage. The whole idea behind points is to motivate the developers, that is even harder if you are not competing on a level field. So splitting up the projects by number of stars/watchers is better. Also I have found that the number of forks is meaningless as it counts the parent repo too.

Fair point.
