Frequent starts of the heat pump compressor

Closed this issue · 1 comments

This is not a bug report, but a question for better understanding of the integration.
I am using a Daikin heat pump in my house and I am recognizing that the compressor is many times over the day starting and stopping again, which is not good for the lifetime of the compressor. The heat pump is an inverter-regulated pump, which can regulate the compressor up and down in order to prevent regular start and stops.
Now I am worried that the Daikin integration of home assistant (climate entity) is overwriting the built-in regulation of the heat pump by a simple two point thermostat, which is simply switching the heat pump on and off and by this causing the frequent stops and starts of the compressor.
As my understanding of the thermostat function of HA is that this is replacing any built-in thermostats of any kind of connected heating system, this would be an explanation for the frequent starts and stops. But maybe my understanding is wrong.

Can you help with this?

Version:

This integration doesn't control the compressor or anything in your Daikin device directly. We only pass the setpoints from HA to the Daikin device, just as the Onecta App does. It is up to your device to use these setpoints, it controls the compressor itself, not this integration.
