Great work!

I would like to try something similar for the 370f version of the thermostat.

• Were you able to take over control in the end or did it remain with decoding work?
• Any advice before jumping in to it :) ?

(I hope the 370f is close to identical to yours. At least, I already see peaks at 868 MHz but for now not it's only measuring junk instead of the nice pulses you show.)

Thanks. Unfortunately, our Vaillant gas water heater broke shortly after I did all the investigations into the protocol and our landlord was so mad at Vaillant (expensive, yet it broke after two years!) that he bought a cheaper heater without wireless control... So, unfortunatly I never got around to controlling the heater.

However, I suppose that trying to control the heater with your own device and the thermostat will not work properly, as the thermostat will regularly send updates with heater on/off and warm water on/of commands to the heater... If you want to control it differently with your own remote, there will be two conflicting commands (one from your own device and one from the original thermostat).
