Flashing the ErgoDone: Old version of `hid_bootloader_cli` working, recent one not (Windows 64-bit)

When trying to flash the QMK firmware onto my ErgoDone v1.3 with hid_bootloader_cli.exe, the repo version from Sep 15, 2017 (c0f5ae7) failed with the error message:
error writing to Teensy
The version before from Jan 18, 2017 (e73672a) worked, however.
