New to scripting and i cant get this to work

It seems like everything runs fine, gets to the point where it puts up the message "preparing for mac os catalina" and it just doesnt do anything after that. if i force quit it, self service is not open so i know that isnt preventing the reboot from happening. Any help from anyone would be great. I dont know scripting well enough to know where its failing. From what i gather this should be pretty straight forward after entering your variables, but i cant get it to work.
