Remove empty elements

After merging contiguous spans[@class="regular-italic"] there exists several empty span elements.

Even in the imported files there exists several thousands of empty spans.

Now the empty spans are removed in the beginning -- just after the import. But still the latest serialized eelexified version one empty span.
