Not possible to format a floppy?

Hi,

i have SFR1M44-U100 with flashfloppy 3.39.

It’s connected to a pentium pc
when trying format a: from dos, the numbers counts up fast on the gotek, then format says something about it not being supported.

is this not possible? Read and write files works fine.

I tried to format the unformatted file in ff library and also a working image file 1440k

The reason I’m even trying to do this is because I need to flash the bios, and the updater program insists on creating a boot floppy with the bios, which doesn’t work.

I read something about different usb sticks can make a difference?. Can you recommend some stick that is known to work?
