Extension stopped working

Opened this issue · 1 comments

Describe the bug

The extension stopped working for me on Chrome. I removed it and re-installed extension again but still not working. I click on the eyedropper extension and where it would usually change to a crosshair type pointer or a little block (if I remember correctly) nothing is happening and no colour gets selected or updated.

Expected Behavior

I'm expecting the pointer to change and colour to be selected - palette gets updated

Steps To Reproduce

  1. My browser has been on page https://simplydigitaldesign.com/

  2. I clicked on Eye Dropper icon and Eye Droppers window appeared without a problem

  3. I clicked on Pick color from web page* button

  4. Nothing happened. I tried it multiple times and waiting couple seconds but nothing...

  5. I removed the extension and reinstalled it.

  6. Experiencing the same issue.

  7. I actually think I now found a hack/fix - I clicked on the Color Picker button

  8. Pointer changes and I can select a colour from the colour palette.

  9. Once the colour is selected and updated if I move the cursor to the website in the background the little square appears and I can now select colour from that page.

  10. For now it seems that everything is working again???

Huge thanks for detailed steps, I'll try to reproduce and fix this ASAP.

@anchenlr if you have couple minutes, can you please answer two more questions?

  1. It stopped working after update to new version or it worked for some time and broke later? Its ok if you don't know, just trying to limit where to look.
  2. By everything is working again - do I understand it correctly, that it is working now even without workaround?

Thanks
