Does rainbowdash support chaining rainbowduinos ?

The documentation of rainbowmarquee seems to state that multiple rainbowduinos could be chained together:
‑ccols: Specifies the number of Rainbowduinos chained together.
rainbowdash uses UART to send commands to a rainbowduino, but I thought that UART can be used to talk to only one rainbowduino.
So is rainbowmarquee able to talk to cascading rainbowduinos ? If so what the wiring looks like ? (I have the rainbowduino v2)
