OK, but:

  1. Please use a high-quality & latest YouTube logo in SVG format.
  2. it should NOT be added into "enabled engines list" by default. And it should be placed after Wikipedia.
  3. should be marked as (not recommended), just like the Wikipedia one, please follow the Wikipedia as the example. (Because I feel adding a non-general search engine is a little... weird. I personally don't use, but if you need you still can add.)

Hm, (not recommended) is strange - YouTube is the second search platform on this planet, not recommended sounds like something is broken with this extension or YouTube...

  1. YouTube is not a general-purpose search engine, just like Wikipedia. If non-general purpose engines can be counted in, how about amazon.com, amazon.jp, ebay.com? The ultimate solution is implementing feature to let user add custom search engine. But I don't want to do this by myself, because I personally don't need. My free time is too less.

In the beginning, EngineSwitch is designed to "easy to get better result when a privacy search engine cannot provide results satisfied you", but I still add Wikipedia because I think it's still OK if somebody really need it. Though I know it cannot provide something like what a general-purpose search engine can do.

  1. Facebook is the largest SNS platform on this planet but the fact that it's a pile of shit still unbreakable. So does YouTube.

  2. YouTube's searching feature is totally a joke. It tends to "recommend more shit to seduce you to waste more time on it" instead of "really return the result according to the keyword you provide". I even tried to contacted the supporting of YouTube in August, 2023:

"YouTube always recommends me some disgusting video in search result. No matter what keyword I've entered, some of disgusting video always appears in "also watched by others" and "recommended to you" in search results. This is so fxxxxxx annoying because there's no way to ask YouTube to stop to do such thing (except for reporting it as "violence or disturbing content"), and it's me want to search video so I use search feature, why cannot just provide an option in settings at least, to coerce YouTube into showing me corresponding results instead of returnung me lots of unrelated garbage?"

And this is their fucking response from their supporting team, they just DO NOT want to solve the problem ON PURPOSE, obviously:

By the way I never click these disgusting videos. But they think "it's YOUR preference, we just recommend videos according YOUR preference." Fuck you YouTube, fuck you Google. They never want to solve the problem, because this is a feature to them.

What YouTube really care is how to distribute drugs to users, to make them addict to bloody (literally), sexually, grotesque video they provided, stick on their shitty harmful service. They don't care anything users care at all, they care only how many revenue can be gotten from ads and the share price of Alphabets.

If you want to add YouTube, PR still welcome, but just leave the Summary field blank, I will merge your PR, then make a new commit to fill my complaining in it later.

I... personally definitely won't enable YouTube when using EngineSwitcher, so just add YouTube if you really need it.
